Let d = distance traveled by the motorcycle
(25-d) = distance he walked
:
Write a time equation; Time = distance/speed
:
Riding time + walking time = 2 hrs
+ = 2
:
Multiply equation by 90 to get rid of the denominators:
2d + 15(25-d) = 90(2)
2d + 375 - 15d = 180
2d - 15d = 180 - 375
-13d = -195
d = -195/-13
d = 15 miles he rode

Check: 25 - 15 = 10 mi he walked
15/45 + 10/6 =
1/3 + 5/3 = 6/3 = 2 hrs
