Question 731028: If it takes 20 min to walk 1 mile to the gym, at what rate of speed am I walking?
Answer by fcabanski(1391)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
20 minutes is 1/3 hour.

d = r*t where d is distance, r is rate, and t is time.

d/t = r = 1/(1/3) = 1*(3/1) = 3 miles per hour.
