Question 722760: while riding her bike to the ocean and back home 6 times Margaret timed herself at 52 min, 61 min, 41 min, 55 min, 48 min, and 55 min. she had set a goal of averaging 52 min for her rides how many minutes will she spend on her seventh ride to attain her goal? I figured you would add all of them up and keep trying to plug a number in till when you divided by 7 that it equaled 52 but that diddn't work?

If you have an average of 52 for 7 items, then the sum of those 7 items must be 52 times 7. You know the sum of 6 of the items, so how much more do you have to add to get to 52 times 7?
