Write and solve an equation to determine when mark will catch up to sandy.

Let t = time required by Mark to catch Sandy
then
(t+1) = Sandy's travel time

When M catches S, they will have traveled the same distance
Write a distance equation; dist = speed * time
:
15t = 12(t+1)
15t = 12t + 12
15t - 12t = 12
3t = 12
t = 12/3
t = 4 hrs for M to catch S
