Hello,
First find the amount of time it takes:
12 minutes
convert this to hours:
12/60 or 1/5 of an hour
We know the formula is:
rate=miles divided by time
Plug in the values:
rate=120/1/5
This can be rewritten as:
120 divided by 1/5
rewritten as:
120 times 5 = 600 miles per hour
Make sense?
