If Car A is going 70 miles an hour and Car B is 1/2 mile behind Car A how fast would Car B have to go in order to catch Car A within a 2 mile radius!!!
:
Let s = the required speed of car B
We can say that Car B has to travel 2.5 mi while Car A travels 2 mi
Distance and speed vary directly
=
cross multiply
2s = 70 * 2.5
2s = 175
s = 175/2
s = 87.5 mph for Car B to catch Car A with in a 2 mi radius
