Question 710457: This is my question: When I drove to my parents house, I went at 90 MPH. This upset my mother, so I promised her I'd slow down. On the way back, I only drove 60 mph, and it took me 2 hours longer. How far away do my parents live?
I tried to make a table like this: rate x time = distance.
There 90 X 90X
Back 60 X=2 60(x+2)
Then I did 60x+120 = 90x. -60x on both sides. 120 = 30 X. divide both sides by 120 and now im lost.

What do I need to do?

d = 90t = 60(t+2)
90t = 60t + 120
t = 4 hours

d = 90*4 = 360 miles
d = 60*(4+2) = 360 miles
