When will the sum of their distances traveled equal 300 miles? The time quantity will be the same for both cars.
car 1: 35*t, his distance traveled during the required time.
car 2: 25*t, his distance traveled during the required time.

35t+25t=300
find t. Add to 1:00 PM.
t=5 hours, therefore, they meet at 6:00 PM.
