I was wondering how I would set up this equation, I have a problem with word problems like this and determining the answer. Thanks for the help

If they were gone 8 hours, how far did they run from the disaster.

Let d = one way distance from the disaster, (also the distance back to it)

Write a time equation; time = dist/speed
:
Away time + return time = 8 hrs
+ = 8
Do you think you can do this now? (multiply thru by 15 to clear the denominators)
