Question 705612: Two cars are traveling in the same direction. The first car is going 50 mph. The second car is going 60 mph. The first car left the starting point 3 hours before the second. How many hours after it begins its journey will the second car catch up with the first?
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First car 50 mph
Car II 60 mph
Difference in time= => 3.00 hours
First car will have covered 150.00 miles before Car II starts
catch up distance= 150.00 miles
catch up speed = 60 -50
catch up speed = 10 mph
Catchup time = catchup distance/catch up speed
catch up time= 15
catch up time= 15.00 hours
