Question 683928: A turtle travels 20m in 8minutes. How long does it take for the turtle to travel 0.5m?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
20/8 = 0.5/x

20x = 8*0.5

20x = 4

x = 4/20

x = 1/5

x = 0.2

So it will take 0.2 minutes or 0.2*60 = 12 seconds.

Alternative way to do this

d = rt

20 = r*8

20/8 = r

2.5 = r

r = 2.5

------------------------------

d = rt

0.5 = 2.5*t

0.5/2.5 = t

0.2 = t

t = 0.2

So we get the same answer.
