8/48 * 60 = 10 minutes

Find how many meters the loser goes in 10 min (1/6 hr)
40 * 1/6 * 1000 = 6666.67 meters

Find his distance from finishing 8000 meters
8000 - 6666.67 = 1333.33 meters

Find the circumference of the track with a 25 meter radius
2*pi*25 = 157.08 meters
