Answer by Edwin McCravy(20081)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A van leaves at 11AM traveling at 45mph. A truck leaves from the same spot at 12PM traveling at 65mph. At what time will the truck pass the van?
When the truck leaves, the van is already 45 miles up the road. The truck's
approach rate to the van is 65-45 = 20mph. Since time = distance/rate the
truck will catch up to the van in 45/20 hours or or 2 hours and 15
minutes, which will be at 2:15PM.
