Question 669152: Two trains leave the station at the same time, one heading east and the other west. The eastbound train travels at 80 miles per hour. The westbound train travels at 70 miles per hour. How long will it take for the two trains to be 210 miles apart?
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Train I 70 mph
Train II 80 mph
They are moving in opposite directions
so effective speed = 150 mph
Distance = 210 miles
Time = distance/speed
Time = 210 / 150
Time = 1.4 hours
Time they will be 210 miles apart 1 hour 24 minutes
