Two cyclists, 48 mi apart, start riding towards each other at the same time. One cycles twice as fast as the other. If they meet 2 hr later, at what average speed is each cyclist traveling?

The easiest way to do this is to imagine that one
of the cyclists is standing still and the other is
approaching at the sum of their speeds and will
cover 48 miles in 2 hrs
Let = the speed of the slower cyclist
= the speed of the other cyclist

Their speeds are 8 mi/hr and 16 mi/hr
