 A car starts from rest, and reaches a speed of 50MPH in 6 seconds, what is the acceleration and average speed ?
To change miles per hour to feet per second multiply by
So 50 miles per hour = 50× = 73.3 feet per second.
acceleration =  =  = 12.2 ft/s².
average speed =
Formula for distance:  =  = 0 + 6.1 = 6.1 feet
average speed =  =  = 1.02 ft/s
