Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
if a car is traveling at 60 mph and a truck leaves the same location 15 mins later and travels at 74mph when will they meet?
---
Early-car DATA:
rate = 60 mph ; time = x hrs ; distance = 60x miles
---------
Later-car DATA:
rate = 74 mph ; time = x-(1/4) hrs ; distance = 74(x-(1/4)) = (74x - 18.5) miles
=========================
Equation:
60x = 74x-18.5
----------
14x = 18.5
x = 1.32 hrs or 1 hr 19.28 minutes
