Susan can clean the house in 3 hours. 

Her husband Mike can clean the house in 5 hours. 

How long will it take for both working together to clean the house?

    |Multiplying thru by 15x so as all denominators = 1

    5x + 3x = 15

       8x = 15

        x = 15/8 = 1.875 hr
