Distance(d) equals Rate(r) times Time(t) or d-rt; r=d/t and t=d/r
t=35 min or 35/60=7/12 hr
d=1.5 mi
soooooooooooooo:
r=d/t=1.5 divided by 7/12 or 1.5/7/12. Lets multiply the numerator and denominator by 12/7. That will get rid of the complex fraction. When we do this, we get:
(1.5)(12/7) divided by (7/12)(12/7) and this reduces to: 18/7/1 or 18/7=
2.571 mi/hr-----------------ans
