Question 627938: A thief escaped from police custody. Since he was a sprinter, he could run at a speed of 40 kmph. The police realised it after 3 hrs and started chasing him at 50 kmph. The police had a dog which could run at a speed of 60 kmph. The dog would run to the thief and return back to the police and then would turn back towards the thief.

A sprinter can't last 3 hours at 40 kmph
and the dog is not going to run at 60 kmph for 6 hours to catch up either.
