If it took a train 23 min to travel 16 miles how fast was the train traveling?
D = rt OR D/t = r

Answer by fcabanski(1391)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
D=RT is the formula for Distance, based on a rate and time.

16=R*23 | Divide both sides by 23.

16/23 = miles/minute = R<

.696 = R (miles/minute) |multiply by 60 to get miles/hour.

41.76 MPH.
