= the speed of the faster jogger in mi/hr
Let = the distance the slower jogger has to
run until they meet

If the rate of one is 2 mph faster than the rate of the other, find the rate of each
:
let r = rate of the slower jogger
then
(r+2) = rate of the faster
:
Write a distance equation, dist = time * rate
2.5r + 2.5(r+2) = 30
2.5r + 2.5r + 5 = 30
5r = 30 - 5
5r = 25
r = 25/5
r = 5 mph is the slower jogger
and obviously
7 mph is the faster jogger
