Question 609783: River is 2500 miles long...boat averages 25 miles an hour...it left little falls at noon on Saturday. When will it arrive in new Orleans
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I'm assuming that you want to travel 2500 miles going 25 mph and you want to know the time t it will take to get there.
d = rt
2500 = 25t
2500/25 = t
100 = t
t = 10
So it will take 10 hours.
This means that if it left at noon (12:00 pm), then it will arrive at 12:00pm +10:00 = 22:00 = 10:00 pm
