How fast was the moving sidewalk moving
:
Change 7 min to 420 sec, change 21 min t 1260 sec
:
m = speed of the moving sidewalk (ft/sec)
:
Assuming the distance was the same for each scenario
Write a distance equation, dist = time * speed
:
420(5+m) = 1260(m-5)
2100 + 420m = 1260m - 6300
2100 + 6300 = 1260m - 420m
8400 = 840m
m = 8400/840
m = 10 ft/sec is the speed of the moving sidewalk
