Question 601263: Helen takes the train to and from work each day. The blueline stops at State Street and Main every 20 minutes. The redline stops there every half hour. If both trains were at that stop at 1:10pm on Tuesday, when is the next time Helen will be able to change trains at the State Street stop without waiting?

The LCM of 20 and 30 is 60. So this means that every 60 minutes, or one hour, the two trains will be at the same stop at the same time.

Add the times to get 1:10 + 1:00 = 2:10

So the answer is 2:10 pm
