Question 591315: My teacher gave us this question and idk how to do it! An airplane flew 1750 miles in 3.5 hours with a tail wind. The return trip took 4 hours against the same wind. Find the wind speed and the speed of the plane in still air.
I tried to make a table and divide the distance by time but it does't work. Can u pls show me step by step?

p + w = 1750 / 3.5

p - w = 1750 / 4

adding the equations will cancel w

solve for p, then substitute back to find w
