Two cars are racing around a 3 mile track. The
first car is going 122 miles per hour. The
second car is going 124 miles per hour. How
long will it take for the fast car to lap the
slower car?

The faster car will lap the slower car when the
faster car has separated from the slower car
by 3 miles.  

The faster car is separating from the
slower car by 124-122 or 2 miles per hour.

      time = 

      time = 1.5 hours or an hour and a half.
