Question 581150: A truck enters a highway going 60 mph. A car enters the highway 15minutes later and drives 68 mph in the same direction. From the time the car enters the highway, how long will it take the car to pass the truck?
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Truck speed = 60 mph
in 1/4 hour it would have covered 60*1/4 = 15 miles
They are travelling in same direction.
so car will catch up 8 miles /hour (68-60)
Distance = 15 miles
catch up speed = 8 mph
t=d/r
Time = 15/8 hours
