At exacthy 12:00 noon, two cars pass each other, heading in opposite directions on parallel roads. One is going 60mph; the other is going 45 mph. At what time will the cars be 140 miles apart?
-----
The distance between the cars is increasing at the rate of 45+60 = 105 mph
----
time = distance/rate = 140/105 = 1 1/3 hrs. = 1hr 20 min.
-----
time = 1:20 PM
