Question 573772: what is the velocity of a bicycle(in meter per second) if it travels 1 kilometer west in 4.1 minutes?
Answer by ptaylor(2198) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Distance(d) equals Rate(r) times Time(t) or d=rt; r=d/t and t=d/r
1 kilometer=1000 meters
4.1 min=4.1*60=246 sec
d=1000 meters
time=246 sec
soooo, velocity=1000 meters/246 sec West=4.065 meters/sec WEST
P.S. Velocity is a vector. It is made up of both speed and direction
Hope this helps---ptaylor
