Question 564107: A pilot plans to make a round- trip flight lasting 2.5 hours. How far can the pilot plan to go if the rate going is 480 kilometers per hour and returning is 320 kilometers per hour?
Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Time forward + time return = 2.5 hours
let the distance be x
t=d/r
time forward = x/480
time return = x/320
x/480 +x/320 = 5/2
LCD = 960
2x+3x=480*5
5x=2400
/5
x= 480 km
