one car travels 20 km/hr faster then another while one of them travels 240 km the other travels 180 km find the speed of the fast car
=================================
Let s = the speed of the slower car
The time, t, for the fast car is the same as the time for the slow car
For the slow car t = 180/s
For the fast car t = 240/(s+20)
180/s = 240/(s+20)
240s = 180s + 3600
60s = 3600
s = 60
So the speed of the fast car = 60 + 20 = 80 km/hr
