How many complete laps will the slower cyclist have left to complete after the faster cyclist finishes?

4 * 12 = 48 laps required to go 12 mi

The faster cyclist requires = .4 hrs to complete 48 laps.

Find how far the slower cyclist goes in .4 hrs
.4 * 24 = 9.6 mi,
which is
9.6 * 4 = 38.4 laps completed
