distance = 6 miles ; rate = 10 mph ; time = d/r = 6/10 hr
----
2nd part DATA:
distance = 3 miles ; rate = 5 mph ; time = d/r = 3/5 hr
----
Total time = (6/10) + (3/5) = 6/10 + 6/10 = 12/10 = 1.2 hr = 1hr 12 minutes
