Question 536316: if ur ship is 20 knots,how far would she have moved in 6 min?
Answer by fcabanski(1391)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
D=RT

D is distance, r is rate (speed) and t is time.

Convert Knots to mph or km/h.

1 knot = 1.151 mph so 20 knots = 20*1.151=23.82 mph.

Convert minutes to hours, because the speed is given in mph (after the conversion.)

60 minutes/hour so divide 6 min by 60 to find the hours.

6/60=.1

D=23.83*.1=2.383 miles.
