Question 535468: Use the substitution method to solve the system of equations below.
x-2y=-3
3x-6y=-12
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3 x -6 y = -12 .............1
1 y = 2 + 0.5 x ---------2
/ 1 =
y = 2 + 0.5 x
Substitute y in (1)
3 x -6 ( 2 + 0.5 x ) = -12
3 x -12 + -3 x = -12
3 x -3 x = -12 12
0 x = 0
There is no solution to the system. The lines are parallel with same slope of (1/2) & different intercepts
