Question 533160: A train moving at 45 kph meets and is passed by a train moving at 36 kph. If it takes the second train 6 seconds to pass any point of the first train, how long is the second train?
Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the combined speed of both trains =45+36= 81 kph
time taken by second train to pass the first train completely is 6 second
6/3600 = 1/600 hours
Distance = speed * time
speed = 81 kph
time = 1/600 hour
d= (81*1/600 )
d= 0.135 km
d= 0.135 *1000 = 135 meters
