If the speed of a moving car is 40 ft/sec and accelerates at 2 ft/sec(squared) for 12 seconds, how fast is it then traveleing.

rate = 40 ft/sec + 12*2 ft/sec
---
rate = (40 + 24) ft/sec

rate = 64 ft/sec
