Question 504261: I really just need help setting this one up please! The answers should be 60/70 miles per hour... They each travel for 3 hours.
Gail drives 10 miles per hour slower than Dexter. With the same driving time, Gail travels a total of 180 miles compared to Dexter who travels 210 miles. Find the speed and time traveled for each.
Thanks to whoever helps me with this! :)

Answer by oberobic(2304)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
d = r*t
.
g = Gail's speed
d = Dexter's speed
.
g = d-10 (given)
.
They each traveled for 3 hr. (given)
t = 3
.
Gail traveled 180 miles (given)
.
3g = 180
g = 60 mph
.
Dexter traveled 210 miles
.
3d = 210
d = 70 mph
.
Done.
