Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Plane I x mph
Plane II x+ 45
..
They are moving towards each other They are moving towards each other
So add up their speed.
combined speed = x+ x + 45
( 2 x + 45 )
Time = 3 hours
Distance = 2385 miles
Distance = speed * time
( 2 x 45 )* 3 = 2385
6 x + 135 = 2385
6 x = 2385 + -135
6 x = 2250
/ 6
x= 375 mph Plane I
Plane II 375 + 45 = 420 mph
