Question 491869: Two cars leave from the same point and travel to the same destination. Car A travels
at a velocity of 96 km/h and the car B travels at a velocity of 86 km/h; Car A arrives at
the distination 20 minutes before car B. How far was it from the start to finish?
Thank you

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Time taken by A - Time taken by B = 1/3 hour
speed of A=96 km/h
speed of B = 86 km/h
Distance = x
x/86-x/96 =1/3
Multiply the equation by (96*86)
(96x-86x)= 96*86/3
10x= 32*86
x= 32*86/10
x= 3.2*86
x= 275.2 km
