Question 483325: Two cars left the same intersection at the same time, one heading due east and the other heading due south. Some time later, they were exactly 75 miles apart. The car headed east had gone 15 miles farther then the car headed south. How far had each car traveled?

this is a right triangle with the hypotenuse of 75 and one leg x and the other leg x+15
x^2+(x+15)^2=75^2
x=45 and x+15=60
