Speed = 30mph
Traveled time = 6 hours
Distance = Time * Speed
Distance = 6*30
Distance = 180m
Ship covers 180m to catch up with the boat.
Therefore boat has also traveled 180m.
Boat Data
Speed = 18mph
Time = ?
Distance =180m
Distance =Time traveled * Speed
180=Time * 18
Divide by 18 both sides
180/18=(Time *18)/18
10=Time
Time traveled= 10 hours
The fishing boat traveled for 10 hours.
