Question 483020: Jennifer's home is exactly ten miles from her place of work. Her average speed on her typical morning commute is 60 miles per hour.
A. What is her average time that it takes her to get to work?
B. If Jennifer wants to get to work in 1/2 of the time, how fast should she drive? What about 1/4 of the time?
Comments: I have tried so much to solve this but it is so hard. I came up with a formul: distance/time=rate. I got 10 minutes for A but I know it's wrong.

Answer by jorel1380(3719)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
10 miles/60 miles/hour=1/6 hours to work=10 minutes.
---------------------------
10 miles in 5 minutes= 10 miles in 1/12 hour
12 x 10= 120 mph
120 mph x 1/12 hour=10 miles.
----------------------
10 miles in 2.5 minutes=
60/2.5 x 10=24 x 10 miles=240 mph.
------------------
rate x time=distance
distance/time=rate..
