Question 481376: Two trains are 2 kms apart. Speed of one train is 20m/s and the other train is running at 30 m/s. Lengths of the 1st train is 200 and other is 300m. In how much time do the trains cross each other?
Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the distance to travel will be 200+300= 500m. That is when the two trains completely cross each other.
They are 2km apart = 2000m
Total distance = 2500m
Since they are running towards each other the combined speed = 30+20 =50m/s
Distance /speed = time
2500/50= 50 seconds
