Question 481253: A car traveled for 1/2 hour at r mph, then increased the speed by 10 mph and traveled for 1 1/2 hour more. How far did the car go? (Express the answer in terms of r).
Answer by ccs2011(207) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Distance = Rate*Time
1st part:
d = (1/2)r
2nd part:
d = (3/2)(r+10)= (3/2)r + 15
Total distance:
d = (1/2)r+(3/2)r +15
d = 2r + 15
