Question 470983: if i want a lake to be .5 miles long by 1 mile wide how many acres of land would i need
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The area of the lake (assuming it's a rectangle) is 0.5*1 = 0.5 square miles.
So you need at least 0.5 square miles of land, which converts to 320 acres (multiply by 640 to convert to acres). Keep in mind that the dimensions of the land must exceed the dimensions of the lake.
