Question 470664: word problem:A car traveled 126 miles in the same amount of time that a van traveled 99 miles.If the car went 15 miles per hour faster than the van, how fast did each vehicle travel?
Answer by sofiyac(983) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
van x miles per hour
car x+15 miles per hour
time=distance/rate
cross multiply
divide both sides by 27
so vans speed is 55 mph
then car's speed is 55+15=70 mph
