If the time spent during the faster speed was twice that spent at a slower speed, find the two speeds during the trip.

let slower speed = x ===> distance = 70
faster speed= x+40 ====> distance = 300 miles
t=d/r
2(70/x) = (300/(x+40))
..
cross multiply
140(x+40)=300x
140x+5600=300x
160x=5600
x=35 mph
faster speed = 75 mph
