Question 459486: Two cyclists start 10 miles apart from each other. One rider travels at 12mph. The other rides at 8mph. A bee starts on the shoulder of the first and flies to the shoulder of the 2nd and continues to fly back and forth nonstop until the 2 cyclists meet. If the bee flies at 15mph, how far does the bee fly?
Answer by jorel1380(3719) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
12+8=20 mph between the two cyclists.
10 miles/20 mph=1/2 hour before they meet.
Bee flies between them for 1/2 hour at 15 mph, so it goes 1/2x15=7.5 miles before they meet.
